1 cup applesauce
½ cup shortening
1 egg
½ tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups flour
½ cup nuts or raisins

Drop 1 tsp on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º (if tin is thin) or 375º (if tin is thick)
