CREAM together
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
BLEND in
1 whole egg
or 2 small egg yolks
SIFT together and add to mixture
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 c flour (sifted)
BLEND into mixture
1/2 tsp vanilla

Cut with cookie cutter and bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in 400 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
For extra sparkle and color, glaze your cookies, using this simple recipe:
Blend together 3/4 c sifted confectioner's sugar and 3-4 teas of water. Follow package directions on food coloring to attain desired color. While cookies are still warm, brush with glaze.
