2 c. oatmeal
2 c. boiling water
2 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Boil water, add oatmeal. Cook and cool. Mix shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until light. Add eggs and mix. Add oatmeal and mix. In a separate bowl; mix cinnamon, cloves, flour, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to egg and oatmeal mixture and mix. Add raisins and nuts. Place in a greased 9x13 cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done. Test using a toothpick in center.
