3/4 cup Shortening, soft
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1/4 cup Water
1 cup sifted Flour
1/2 tsp Soda
1 cup firmly-packed Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Salt
3 cups Uncooked Oats
Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy. Sift together flour, salt and soda; add to creamed mixture; blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated moderate oven 350º for 12-15 minutes.
