Notes: Family Memories from Marla Aud Haller: I was young but I remember Grandma Cater's sweetness. She was kind and gentle with beautiful soft eyes. I remember playing her piano and swinging on her porch. I remember the town telephone operator who lived next door and listened in on all the party lines and knew all of the gossip. I remember the drug store up on the corner with the soda fountain. I remember Jesse living across the street and playing spoons to entertain us. There are many other memories tucked away in my heart and I am so grateful for all of the wonderful people enfolded in this book. I have learned so much. They are a part of me always and have had a great influence on who I am and what my values are. I miss them.
