1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
8 egg whites
1/4 t. salt
1 t. cream of tartar
8 egg yolks
1 c. flour
1 t. orange flavoring
orange buter icing

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar and water until dissolved. Beat 8 egg whites until stiff with salt and cream of tartar. Beat 8 egg yolks and beat in syrup (sugar and water) while beating. Add 1 c. flour and orange flavoring. Fold in egg whites. Bake in a tube pan (ungreased) for one hour at 325 (bake on bottom rack of oven). Cool upside down. Ice with thin orange butter icing.
