1½ c Sugar
½ c Oleo
2 Eggs
1tsp Vanilla
1 oz. red food coloring
2 c cocoa
2 c flour
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vinegar
1 c buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the sugar and oleo then add eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring. Sift together the flour, cocoa, and salt. Now add to first mixture alternating with the buttermilk. Finally add soda and vinegar.

Bake in 2- 8" round cake pans at 350º for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack and when cool slice each half making 4 layers..

I remember Grandma making this cake and I just loved it!!! Now, when I see Red Velvet Cake it reminds me of her and her wonderful cake!
