Simple Bread Pudding Recipe

6 slices of bread (day old)
2 cups of cold milk
1 tbsp. Melted butter
4 eggs slightly beaten
¾ cup of white sugar
½ cup raisins or Granny Smith apples
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 350º
Tear bread slices apart into at least 6 pieces each
Place in a glass or metal pan at least 9 x 9 inches wide
Pour melted butter all over the bread pieces
Combine in a medium bowl the eggs milk sugar cinnamon vanilla and salt
Pour mixture over the bread and it press down with a fork
Sprinkle raisins or slices of apples
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes
Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before cutting
Store in sealed container

Although I didn't create this recipe it is a quick and easy family favorite! We sometimes add some vanilla ice cream on top.
