2¼ cups unbleached flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1½ cup sugar plus ⅓ cup for rolling
2 ounces cream cheese, cut into 8 pieces
6 tablespoons butter, melted, still warm
⅓ cut vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla

Preheat oven to 350º use the middle rack of the oven with parchment paper

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, together and set aside.

Place 1½ cups sugar and cream cheese in a large bowl. Pour warm butter over sugar and cream cheese. Whisk in oil.

Add beaten egg, vanilla and milk, whisk until smooth.

Add flour mixture and stir with spatula until homogeneous dough forms.

Make small round balls, roll in extra sugar and place on the parchment paper on the cookie sheets. 12 cookies per sheet.

Flatten with a drinking glass. sprinkle with sugar.

Bake 11 to 13 minutes, rotating sheet after 7 minutes.

Rest on sheet 10 minutes.
