2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
4 tbsp. milk (or almond milk)
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Using dough paddles on a standing mixer, cream together shortening, sugar, and vanilla.
Add 1 egg and milk.
Add flour, baking powder, and salt.
Dough should be pretty stiff, but soft.
Chill 1 hour in fridge (if you have time)

Preheat oven to 375ºF
Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/4-1/2 inch thick (thicker the better). Cut out cookies and put on cookie sheet.

Small cookies: cook 6-7 minutes. (Cookies will be white and puffy, not browned. They might look under-done)
Large cookies: cook 10 minutes

Let cookies cool completely. Frost and decorate.
