1 cup shortening
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
3 cups sifted flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup nuts, chopped fine
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Blend sugars and shortening. Add other ingredients and mix well.

Roll into three rolls and wrap in waxed paper. Freeze.

Line cookie sheets with cooking parchment paper. Unwrap dough; cut into 1/4-inch slices. On cookie sheets, place slices 1 inch apart.

Bake at 350º for 6 to 8 minutes
