7 lbs Thinly Sliced Cucumbers
2 cups Pickling Lime
9 cups Granulated Sugar
1 tsp Whole Cloves
1 tsp Mixed Pickling Spice
2 gal of Water
8 cups White Vinegar
1 tbsp Salt
1 tsp Celery Seed

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cucumbers in water and lime for 24 hours. Stir occasionally.
Wash in clean cool water to remove the lime.
Soak pickles in fresh water for 3 hours.
Drain.
Combine remaining ingredients, add cucumbers and soak overnight.
Boil pickles in soaking liquid until pickles are clear about 1 hour.
Pour into hot sterilized jars, seal process 5 minutes.

My Grandma Randall made these pickles every year. The pickles would be sitting on the kitchen counter soaking.
