10 C apple pulp
3 C sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 handful red hots candy (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook apples til soft. Put through colander. Measure pulp to 10 c worth.
Combine all ingredients and bake in oven 300-350 degrees about 2 hours, stirring occasioanlly OR bring to a boil on top of stove in a large kettle, stirring constantly, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes,

Place in sterilized canning jars,fill to within 1/8" on top. If you do not use canning jars and lids, you will need to freeze until ready to use.

Grandma and Grandpa always made applesauce for the church bazaar. It took hours...I've been known to hack the recipe with a jar of natural applesauce, mixed with a bag of red hots that have been dissolved in some water on the stove.
