2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
½ tsp salt
1 cup butter or lard
3 T cocoa
1 tsp soda
2 eggs
½ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup water
Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Place shortening, water and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour hot liquid over flour mixture. Mix well. Beat eggs, add milk, soda and vanilla. Add to the first mixture. Pour into pan and bake at 350º . For a 9 x 13 pan, bake for 40-50 minutes; for an 11 x 14 pan, bake for 20 minutes.
