2 1/2 pounds ground beef
2 medium onions (chopped)
2 medium sweet peppers (chopped)
4 garlic cloves (chopped)
2 28oz tins crushed tomatoes
2 28oz tins diced tomatoes
2 1/2 cup beef stock or water
1 tbsp each dried oregano and basil
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp crushed chilli flakes
2 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
2 5oz tins tomato paste

Directions:
Directions:
In large pot, cook beef over medium heat until no pink remains
Drain away fat, and then add onions, peppers and garlic; cook 5 minutes
Add remaining ingredients, except salt and pepper; bring to a gentle simmer
Gently cook, partially covered and stirring occasionally; 30 to 45 minutes
Season to taste
