Cake:
Devil's Food cake mix and ingredients required on the box

Filling:
3/4 cup milk
5 Tbsp. flour
1/2 cup shortening (white Crisco works good)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla

Frosting:
6 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 cup butter
2 1/2 Tbsp. hot water
1 egg
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix as directed on box. Pour batter into a greased 11x17 inch cake pan and bake 12-15 minutes. Cool.

Prepare filling by combing milk and flour. Cook in a saucepan until thick whisking constantly. Set aside to cool. In another bowl, beat together shortening, butter, sugar and vanilla. Add to cooled milk & flour mixture and beat for 10 minutes. Spread over cooled cake and refrigerate.

Prepare frosting: In a saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the cocoa and hot water. Remove from heat. Beat in the egg and add powdered sugar and vanilla; continue to beat until smooth. Spread on cooled filling. Cut into bars and refrigerate.
