1 lb. butter or margarine (or 1/2 of each)
3/4 cup sugar
4 tsp vanilla
2 Tbl water
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cups finely chopped pecans
confectioners sugar, for rolling cookies in

Directions:
Directions:
Cream first 4 ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Form small balls, the size of a walnut, then shape into a crescent on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees until light brown, approximately 20 minutes. When cooled, roll in confectioners sugar.

These were very light and buttery cookies that we had mostly around Christmas.
