3/4 Cup Shortening
1 Cup sugar
2 Eggs
1 Cup molasses
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 Cup sour cream or sour milk. (Sour milk by adding 1 Tablespoon white vinegar to the milk)
1 tsp Ginger
1 tsp Cinnamon
Or use 2 tsp. Pumpkin spice
1/2 tsp. Salt
About 5 cups of flour

Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar and eggs. In a separate bowl dissolve baking soda and molasses, then add to mixture. Add 1/2 of flour to creamy mixture, add some of the sour cream or sour milk, mix, then add the rest of the ingredients, then the rest of the sour cream or milk. Mix good and refrigerate a couple hours or overnight. Roll out doing on floured parchment paper or wax paper and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool, then frost with icing. Icing: powdered sugar, butter, and milk.
