5-6 ears of freshly picked sweet corn (preferably from one of the Nelson men)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
5 eggs (preferably from one of Carmain's chickens)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. In an iron skillet melt butter. Mix other ingredients in a large bowl and pour into the hot skillet over the melted butter. Bake for about 1 hour.

Grandpa Leo was always so proud of the annual sweet corn crop. Our kids have many fond memories of going out to help pick the sweet corn, coming back to the house with mud up to their knees and some of the biggest ears of corn we'd ever seen.
