1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
coarse sugar for decorating

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and almond extracts.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add this to first mixture and combine well. Divide dough into 2 disks, wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Roll the cold dough out 1/8 inch thick, then cut cookies.
Sprinkle with coarse sugar and bake 6-10 minutes at 375 on an ungreassed cookie sheet or until golden and sparkly.
