Bake a 9" Pie Shell & cool

FILLING:
5 T. Flour
1 cup brown sugar
3 T butter
1½ cup milk
2 Egg Yolks
1 tsp. vanilla

MERINGUE:
4 T. sugar
⅛ tsp. cream of tarter
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in sugar, 1 T. at a time; continue beating until stiff and glossy. Do not underbeat.

Directions:
Combine flour and sugar. Add milk. Pour small amount of sugar mixture over egg yolks that have been slightly beaten with a fork. Pour all into sugar mixture and cook till thick, stirring so will not burn. Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla, stirring vigorously. Pour into Pie shell. Top with the meringue and bake for 12 min. in a slow oven till lightly browned. Watch carefully so don't burn.
