1 c. Shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and extract Mix well. Add flour and mix in well. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by the teaspoon on greased or parchment covered cookie sheet. Bake about 12 minutes.

Note: an electric mixer works for all ingredients excepts chips and nuts.
