1/2 cup ( 1 stick ) plus 6 T. Butter or margarine softened. I use margarine...reason being some times the cookies may burn a little on the bottom when using butter.

3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Salt
3 cups oatmeal uncooked
1 cup raisins

Heat oven to 350 º. In large bowl, beat butter and sugars on med. speed with elec mixer until creamy
Add eggs and finally, beat well
Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and mix well.
Add oats and raisins, mix well.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets
Bake 10 to 12 min. Or until light golden brown. Cool 1 min. On cookie sheets and remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.
