"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Buttercream Cookie Frosting

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
3-4 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-4 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
green food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
With a standing mixer or hand mixer, beat butter until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes--it seems like a long time, but it's worth it!).
Add in powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time (beginning with only 3 cups of powdered sugar), beating well after each addition. Add in vanilla extract and 2 Tbsp of heavy whipping cream, beating well. If the frosting seems too thin, add in the remixing powdered sugar. If it's too thick, add in the remaining heavy whipping cream. Add food coloring. To frost cover cookie and then take your knife and lift it up and down on the frosting to make little peaks that look like leaves.
If making ahead of time, keep frosting in the fridge, and then let the frosting come to room temperature before spreading onto cookies.

Personal Notes:
Grandma Hunt would leave the color not completely mixed to add variation of color for a realistic look.
