Personal Notes:
This refers to Austin's Grandpa, Timothy Holland, who made this bread for the family all the time. It is a true family favorite - great for breakfast, lunch or snack. Serve with butter, jam, honey, peanut butter, nutella - whatever you like. In the early days of our marriage, Austin would make mini loaves as holiday gifts. He'd invariable start the loaves after the kids were in bed, which means they wouldn't go into the oven until close to midnight. I would be long asleep by the time he finished cooking, but there is nothing better than waking up in the morning with the smell of freshly baked Grandpa Bread in the house. Let's just say, some of the gifts never made it to their intended recipients ... !
