1 C butter softened
1/2 C sugar
1 egg separated
1 TBS half and half cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C finely chopped pecans
halved red marashcino cherries or red jelly of choice

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolk, cream and vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in finely chopped pecans. Roll into 3/4" balls. In a small bowl, beat egg whites. Dip balls in egg whites, then roll in additional pecans. Place 2 " apart on ungreased baking sheet. Using the end of a wooden spoon handle, make an indentation in center of each ball. top each ball with a cherry half or fill with jelly. Bake at 350 for 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
