⅔ cup shortening

2¼ cups firmly packed brown sugar

3 eggs

2¾ cups sifted all-purpose flour

2½ tsp. double acting baking powder

½ tsp. salt

1 12 oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips

1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar.

Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt.

Add to creamed mixture along with vanilla and chocolate chips.

Spread into greased 15x9x2 inch pan.

Bake at 350º for 35 minutes.

Cut while warm.
