2 1/2 cups soft a silk cake flour
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup buttermilk, divided
1 1/4 cup mashed banana
2 eggs
2/3 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening ,1/3 cup buttermilk and banana. Beat 2 minutes. Add 1/3 cup buttermilk and eggs. Beat two more minutes. Fold in nuts. As I remember, Mother baked this in two greased and floured cake pans.
