Thumb Print Cookies


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
Mix thoroughly;
1 cup butter, soften
½ cup light brown sugar
2 eggs yokes
1 teaspoon vanilla

Sift and mix with above;
2 cups flour
½ teaspoon salt

egg whites lightly beaten
1¼ chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Roll into balls and dip into egg whites then roll into nuts.
Bake 5 minutes, remove from oven and press thumb into middle of each cookie.
Bake 8 minutes more. Cool on rack before filling with icing.
 

Powder Sugar Icing


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1 cup sifted powder sugar
1 tablespoon soften butter
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 to 2 tablespoon of milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together first 3 ingredients. Add milk until icing is of spreading consistency.
