3 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 c. sugar
12-15 soda crackers, crushed
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped fine

Directions:
Directions:
As you are beating egg whites and they start to get stiff, slowly add 1 c. sugar. Add in the vanilla.

Mix crushed soda crackers and baking powder. Fold in mixed whites and pecans.
Butter pie plate and fill with mixture. Bake 30 min. at 350º. Shape in oven if necessary.

Mix fruit with 1/2 pint cool whip, vanilla, and sugar with 1 pint strawberries, raspberries, etc.

Grandma Edith made this a lot, esp. in the 1970's on. It was popular in the family. Strawberries were the usual fruit. Soda crackers can be saltines or waverly (or keebler club crackers).
