1/2 c. shortening (part butter)
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
3/4 c. soured milk
1 t. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1 c. nuts, if desired
Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar and egg thoroughly.
Stir in milk and vanilla.
Blend flour, cocoa, soda and salt.
Stir into shortening mixture.
Stir in nuts if using.
Chill at least 1 hour.
Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2" apart onto lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 8 - 10 min. or until no imprint remains when touched lightly.
May ice with a white frosting.
