¾ cups butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight). Preheat oven to 400ºF. Roll out dough on floured surface ¼ to ½ in thick. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Place cookies 1 in apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 6-8 min in preheated oven. Cool completely before frosting. Use Basic frosting recipe.
