Ingredients:  
1 cup shortening (I use oleo)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 well beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1½ cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
3 cups Quick Cook Rolled Oats
½ cup California Walnuts (chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar.

Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.

Add sifted dry ingredients, then add rolled oats and nut meats. Mix well.

Shape into rolls - chill thoroughly (over night).

Slice ¼ inch thick.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350º for 10 minutes (or more)

(Sometimes I use ½ cup more of the rolled oats.)
