1 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, well beaten
2 T. melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
1 c. sour milk w. 1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients, add eggs, butter, vanilla, vinegar and sour milk. Mix. Drop by spoon into hot oil and fry about 5 minutes.

When discussing the cookbook, our kids brought up this recipe. Then they remembered they hadn't had them in a long time! They love the unique shapes they make in the oil. It is great fun to listen to their imaginations roll.
