¾ c. granulated sugar
¾ c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 egg
2¼ c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Directions:
1) Heat oven to 375º. In a large bowl, mix sugars, butter and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. (Dough will be stiff).
Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
2) On ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by rounded tablespoons about 2 in. apart. Bake 8-10 min. or until light brown.
Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks.

This is Tommy and Josh’s favorite cookie. I have been making them for years and have made a tradition to make them when Josh was coming home from college, medical school, residency, and home for the holidays. It has become my “welcome home” cookie.
