1 lb ground beef
1 stick (10 oz) of Portuguese sausage or Chorizo sausage
1 can kidney beans drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can pork and beans
1 can tomato soup
1 to 2 pkg. McCormick’s chili seasonings
1 can green beans

Brown ground beef with sausage, drain excess grease. Add remaining six ingredients to pan, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes.

My Grandmother Josie Buemi was the only other person who used pork and beans in chili and it was always good. Tara's chili is very tasty! Portuguese sausage is key, you can use chorizo, but it is not as good.Also called Linguiça sausage, try and find it at the Westside market or online.

Newcomers to the Hawaiian Islands may not be able to connect a sausage from Portugal as something quintessentially from Hawaii. The Portuguese sausage in Hawaii has become an integral part of everyday cuisine. This has been the case ever since immigrants, primarily from the Azores, a chain of islands southwest of Portugal, arrived in Hawaii during the late 1800s.
