3 1/2 pound round steak
Bacon
1/4 teaspoon each black pepper, red pepper and salt
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
3 cups canned tomatoes (or home grown ones if you have them)
1 1/4 cups water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut little pockets, lengthwise, in the round steak and stick a piece of bacon in each of those pockets. Combine the salt and pepper mixture and smear on the outside of the meat. Melt the butter in a cast iron skillet and brown the meat on both sides. Then add brown sugar, tomatoes and water. Cover the pan, turn the heat way down and let it simmer for about an hour and a half or until the meat is tender.
