12 plum tomatoes - OR - 2 cans of plain stewed tomatoes, pureed before adding
1/2 stick butter
1 bunch green onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic chopped fine
2 stalks celery, diced small
2 pinches of salt
1 big pinch of sugar
1 oz or more dried dill ** we prefer to add dill to taste, full amount seems excessive**
2 c. heavy cream - OR- half and half

Directions:
Directions:
Roast a dozen plum tomatoes, cut in half, coated with oil, and sprinkled with a pinch of salt and sugar, in a 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. A little char is good. Puree in blender or food processor.

-OR-

Use 2 cans of plain stewed tomatoes, pureed before adding to soup.

In stockpot over medium high heat melt butter. Add green onions, garlic, and celery. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Add salt and sugar. Add tomatoes. Add dill, Whisk in cream. Garnish with fresh dill.
