1 Cup butter - softened
˝ sugar
2 teaspoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 Cups sifted flour
˝ Cup finely chopped nuts (Grandma used walnuts or your favorite)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat/cream butter and sugar fluffy. Mix in milk and vanilla, ADD flour mix. Stir in nuts. Cover and refrigerate (original recipe card says “ice box”) 2 hours. Form into little balls.Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375* oven….12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly, roll in powdered sugar. ENJOY

This is the original recipe for Snowball Cookies the old fashioned way. This recipe is from prior to the 1930’s. During WWII, Grandma Ray sent these cookies in a tin to her son’s Bill and John Ray, Uncle Bill (William W Ray) was in the Army and Uncle John Ray was in the Navy.
