1 Cup Bisquick
½ stick butter (Grandma used oleo but you probably don’t know what that is?) softened
¼ Cup finely crushed nuts (Grandma Ray used walnuts, but pecans work well too)
1½ teaspoon vanilla
3 Tablespoons boiling water

Mix well by hand; roll into little balls about size of walnut shell at 375* for about 10 minutes (light golden) Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.

I still remember them melting in my mouth.

This is a cookie my Maternal Grandmother, Mary Ray used to make for her grandchildren in Christmas’s past. They are so good warm from the oven, the powdered sugar melts like snow in your mouth. Bisquick was first introduced in early 1930’s so Grandma Ray had perfected many “Bisquick” recipes. It was the quick and easy way to baking in her day. But still good!
