Directions:Cut marshmallows into 4ths. Put marshmallows in colander, rinse with cool water to remove powdered sugar coating; this is necessary. Drain. Mix dressing with fruit, nuts & marshmallows. Serve. To me it’s not Thanksgiving without this salad. |

Notes: This is a fruit salad, Grandpa Wayne Hampton’s mother (Deva Hampton) made every Thanksgiving. And again there is no recipe. She taught me and I have tried to break it down to the measurements. There again there is a lot of taste as you go and use fruit that your family likes. But in my opinion it must have pecans. Deva’s mother, Greta Susan Lambert (the person Susan Wozniak is named for) and sister Aunt Edith Allen also made this salad maybe going back to the 1920’s. Some of the ingredients have been adapted over the years to fix the fruits and product advances. It is one of the recipes that you just make and not necessarily measure. I have tried to guess measurements so if you want to add more or less of something please make it your own. But must use Kraft JET PUFFED. The other brands just don’t seem as fluffy.
