Personal Notes:
I don't know where Granny got this recipe, but she served it at a dinner party and Shay was sold at the first bite. Easy to make ( the hardest part is finding the unsliced rye bread to serve it in - round is preferred but if need be loaf snapped tastes just as good! ). Shay has taken this appetizer to more pot luck gatherings than be counted. It's always a hit. P. S. Beau monde is a spice made by Spice Islands and is plentiful in the south but not in the north. I have to buy it on Amazon!
