1 pt. water
2 pkgs (1lb each) light brown sugar
1 pkg (1lb) dark brown sugar
1 lb margarine
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp vanilla
2 qt pecan halves
12 sifted level c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan, bring to boil first 9 ingredients. Cook to soft ball stage about 4 minutes. Do not overcook. Cool partially, then add the 2 quarts pecan halves and teaspoon vanilla. Mix 12 sifted cups flour with 2 teaspoons baking soda and 2 teaspoons baking powder in a large container; add syrup and mix. Pour into 2 greased bread pans and let ripen in refrigerator 3 or 4 days. Slice and bake. You may take out of pans and cut the size you want your cookies; put back in pans and freeze. Then slice thin for a wafer like cookie. Bake at 350º till browned about 10 minutes or more.
