2 cans yams
1/2 cup butter
brown sugar

Directions:

Melt butter over medium heat, add brown sugar and boil until caramelized. Slowly add yams with some of the juice. Let cook over low heat for at least 30 minutes, stirring as little as possible.

Other than the turkey, this was dad's contribution to Thanksgiving dinner. More like a dessert than a side dish, it is a must at any Southern Thanksgiving dinner.
