1 box cornbread mix
¼ butter
1½ cups chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 beaten egg
½ cup turkey drippings or chicken broth
parsley
sage
thyme
salt
pepper
dash of garlic powder
dash of Accent

Directions:
Directions:
Bake cornbread according to package. Cool, then crumble into large bowl. Set aside. Saute celery and onions in butter in large skillet until tender, about five minutes. Remove from heat, add parsley, garlic power, sage, thyme, Acccent and pepper. With fork stir eggs, broth and vegetables in cornbread. Bake 30 minutes at 350º.

In the south dressing is traditionally served on Thanksgiving in place of stuffing. This dish, handed down through the generations continues to be a staple at every Engler Thanksgiving dinner.
