2 Pkg Dry yeast
4 C Warm water
1/2 C Sugar
3 T Shortening
6 C Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Place yeast and sugar in the warm water and let bloom until bubbly. Place 5 1/2 C of the flour in a large bowl and add the water mixture, shortening, and salt. Mix well and then knead until smooth and silky, adding more flour if the dough is too wet, kneading until silky smooth. Place in a large greased bowl and let proof until doubled in size. Punch down, divide in half and form into 2 loaves. Let rise again.

Bake for 30 minutes or until they sound hollow upon tapping.
