Ingredients:  
1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
3 cups unbleached white flour
grated rind of lemon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Cream the butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and work well with hands.
Roll out about 1/8 inch thick.
Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Bake on cookie sheet until brown, about 7 minutes.
Watch them carefully so they do not burn.

Cookies may be decorated with pecan halves, cherries or sprinkles.
