1 cup butter flavored shortening (or ½ butter, ½ shortening)
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 ½ cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
½ tsp salt
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt.
Stir into sugar mixture.
Stir in oats and raisins, drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes until light and golden.
Store in an airtight container.

*** the boys really like them except for the raisin part so I am forced to leave them out until I have dough for about a dozen cookies left then I mix in a few just for me.***
