1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cu Brier Rabbit molasses or syrup
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup broken walnuts
2 cups finely cut soaked figs

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar and add eggs and beat until smooth. Add molasses, mix well. Add flour and spices, etc.. Add nuts, fruit. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350º oven for 12-15 minutes.
