1 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
8 oz semisweet chocolate
3/4 C butter softened
1 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 C buttermilk
1 C chopped walnuts

4 oz semisweet chocolate
1/2 C heavy cream

Heat oven 350 degrees, bake 60 - 65 minutes.

Coat an 8" cake pan w/nonstick spray. Line bottom with waxed paper, spray paper.

Whisk together flour, salt and baking soda.

Microwave chocolate and butter for 1 minute, stirring half way through. Microwave 15 more seconds if needed, stir til smooth.

Whisk sugar and vanilla, then stir in eggs, buttermilk and 2/3 C walnuts. Stir in flour mixture til just combined.

Pour batter in pan, bake until toothpick comes out clean. Move to wire rack and let cool 5 minutes, then invert pan onto wire rack and cool completely. Remove and discard wax paper.

Glaze:
Place chocolate in small bowl. Heat cream in saucepan over medium heat until just simmering. Pour over chocolate. Let stand 4 minutes to melt, stir til smooth.

Place a cookie sheet under wire rack. Pour glaze over cake, use spatula to smooth over top and sides.

Pat remaining walnuts around top.

When glaze is firm remove cake to platter and serve.
